Knit to give [FREE]

Last festive season I was in the hospital quite poorly after giving birth. I woke up Christmas morning, not to find presents under the tree as I was in a High Dependency Ward, but to find my daughter in the arms of a wonderful midwife named Mia who had put her in an adorable knitted baby Santa hat.

It brought a burst in joy in a time I felt really vulnerable, and I decided in that moment that by Christmas this year I was going to attempt to knit a baby hat of my own to donate to the hospital, in the hope of paying it forward.

Thanks to one of my calligraphy students (thanks Tracie!), lots of trial and error, and a ton of fun, I have a new obsession with knitting. It was so much fun that I've decided to run my very own beginners' class with the…
